Therapist Websites Designed to Support Connection, Visibility, and Practice Growth
I design custom websites for therapists and private practices who are ready for an online presence that feels more connected, intentional, and reflective of the depth of their work. From branding and copywriting to therapist-specific SEO and visibility strategy, each website is thoughtfully built to strengthen client trust, improve visibility, and support long-term practice growth.
Your website is often the first step in rapport.
Long before an intake is scheduled, potential clients are reading your bio, scanning your specialties, and quietly asking themselves if you're the right fit for them.
Your website plays a significant role in that first impression.
I design therapist websites that communicate your work with clarity, warmth, and structure, helping the right clients feel more confident reaching out. Whether you are a solo therapist, growing group practice, trauma specialist, EMDR therapist, or expanding into supervision or intensives, your website should reflect both the professionalism and humanity behind your work.
My Work in the Mental Health World
I’m Amanda, founder of Mitzi James Designs.
For years, I’ve worked behind the scenes in mental health practices, supporting therapists as their caseloads grow and their responsibilities expand. I understand what happens long before the first session: what someone searches at 9 pm, how they read a bio when they’re anxious, and the quiet questions they carry about fit, specialties, and availability.
That perspective shapes how I design.
Your website isn’t just a marketing tool. It’s often the first moment of trust-building.
That’s the weight I hold when we build it.
Recent Therapist + Group Practice Websites
Designed Specifically for Therapy Practices
Therapist websites require a different level of intentionality than most service-based businesses.
They need warmth, clarity, thoughtful organization, and messaging that helps potential clients feel understood without becoming overwhelmed. I understand:
How referral streams influence caseload growth
The difference between insurance-based, private pay, and hybrid practices
The importance of specialty clarity and niche visibility
How tone and language impact emotional safety
The client journey from first Google search to first session
Why backend systems and intake flow matter just as much as the design itself
How Psychology Today, SEO, and your website work together to support visibility
Whether you’re starting a solo practice or expanding into a group practice with multiple clinicians, your website should support the way you work so you can better support the clients who rely on you.
Kind Words From Therapists I’ve Worked With
What We Build Together
Brand Alignment + Visual Identity
Whether you're drawn to soft watercolors, nature-inspired tones, bold colors, warm earthy palettes, or a more lifestyle-centered aesthetic, we’ll refine your color palette, typography, and visual style to create a brand that feels aligned with your therapeutic approach and instantly recognizable to the people you’re meant to support.
Therapist-Specific SEO + AEO
Location-based optimization, specialty keywords, structured headings, metadata, and conversational content designed to improve visibility in both Google Search and AI-driven search experiences.
Clear, Connected Website Copy
Messaging that reflects your clinical voice while helping potential clients better understand your specialties, approach, and areas of support.
Client Journey Structure
Thoughtful contact forms, FAQs, intake flow organization, and page structure that help clients feel more grounded before the first session.
Simple, Manageable Systems
Backend organization and website systems designed to support your workflow, not complicate it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do therapists really need a website if they already have Psychology Today?
Yes. While directories like Psychology Today can help potential clients initially discover your practice (especially while your website SEO/AEO is still gaining traction), your website is often where people decide whether they feel connected enough to actually reach out. A website allows you to better communicate your specialties, personality, values, and client experience in a way directories cannot fully support.
With that said, I completely understand that for many therapists, only having a Psychology Today profile may be the most realistic option budget-wise at certain stages of practice. And that’s okay! When you feel ready to expand your online presence and create a more personalized space for your practice, I’m here to support you.
Can you redesign my current therapy website?
Absolutely. Many therapists I work with already have an existing website but feel it no longer reflects their practice, specialties, or current stage of growth. Redesign projects may include updated branding, improved organization, SEO updates, refreshed copy, and a more cohesive client experience.
Do you provide the website copy?
Depending on the package selected, yes. Some packages include full-scope copywriting support for web pages, provider bios, specialty pages, and service descriptions. For more foundational packages, clients provide the initial copy and I help refine it for clarity, cohesiveness, SEO, and connection.

What if I don’t have branding yet?
That’s completely okay. Many therapists I work with are still figuring out how they want their practice to feel visually and emotionally online. I can help guide the branding process through color palette and font selection, visual direction, and overall website cohesion.
How long does the website process take?
Most therapist website projects take anywhere between 3–8 weeks depending on the scope of the project, responsiveness with feedback/content, and whether branding or copywriting support is included. Larger group practice or expansion projects may require additional time.
Why Does Website Design Cost What It Does?
This is a question I deeply understand, especially within the mental health field where many therapists are balancing student loans, private practice expenses, insurance limitations, and the realities of growing a caseload.
This may not always be the right fit financially for every practice, and I completely understand that.
While my pricing is intentionally lower than many boutique website and branding studios, each project still requires a significant amount of strategy, time, emotional thoughtfulness, technical work, SEO implementation, copy refinement, and behind-the-scenes organization to build well.
Beyond the specific items listed within a package, you’re also investing in the strategy, emotional thoughtfulness, technical work, SEO implementation, copy refinement, and behind-the-scenes organization that go into building a website well.
A website is often one of the first places potential clients begin forming a sense of trust, safety, and connection with your practice. It’s intentionally designed to help potential clients understand your work, feel emotionally safe enough to reach out, and navigate the first steps of connection with more clarity and confidence.
You’re also paying for years of experience working behind the scenes in mental health practices and understanding the unique needs of therapists, group practices, referral relationships, intake flow, client behavior, and visibility within this field.
A thoughtful website has the ability to support not only how your practice looks online, but how it functions, grows, and connects over time.
Because I understand these realities within the therapy world, this is why I offer payment plan options to help make projects feel more manageable for practices in different stages of growth.
Also, for what it’s worth, I tend to become one of my clients’ biggest advocates. One of the unexpected joys of designing therapist websites is getting to deeply learn about each therapist, their specialties, ideal clients, and the kind of care they provide. So when I see someone searching for a trauma therapist in Georgia, an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist in Tennessee, or support for a very specific need, I’m often one of the first people excited to recommend and share the work of the therapists I’ve had the privilege of supporting.
